Staff Focus: Sam Fuller

This month we find out about Sam Fuller, RVN based at our Stapenhill Practice.

When did you start working for Scarsdale Vets Stapenhill?

I started working for Scarsdale in August 2012 as a newly qualified nurse after training at a mixed practice in Rugeley.

What does your job entail on a day to day basis?

The nurses work on a rota system so each day you are working in a different area, some days will be consulting, others will be in theatre and some days will be inpatient care in the hospital. I have a keen interest in canine and feline behaviour, I teach the puppy training classes, and see behavioural and social appointments.

What do you love the most about working at Scarsdale Vets?

The best part of working for Scarsdale is the animals, we get to see a variety of pets – along with cats and dogs we also see exotics including reptiles, birds and tortoises. I also enjoy being able to work in different parts of the surgery. Every day is different and I’m always learning. I also love working with such a great team, the nurses vets and receptionists are all fantastic.

When you are not at work, tell us a little bit about what else you do?

Outside of work I have my own pets to care for, I have an older welsh pony called Merlin, and a Springer Spaniel cross Border Collie called Sully, who both keep me busy. I also enjoy reading and baking for my friends and family.
