We perform many types of operations at both the Stapenhill & Stretton practices. Here we have experience in soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics. Some of the surgeries we regularly perform are:

  • Neutering (castration and spay) – Dogs, cats, rabbits, small mammals and exotics. This also covers retained testicles
  • Caesarians
  • Pyometra (womb infection)
  • Gastric torsions (twisted stomach)
  • Removing intestinal obstructions
  • Splenectomy (removal of a diseased spleen)
  • Lump removals
  • Fracture repair
  • Cruciate ligament repair
  • Patella luxations (dislocating knee caps)
  • Eye and eyelid surgery
  • Reptile and bird surgery

This means that should your pet require an operation, we have all the facilities and expertise available to help get your pet back to good health. If a case is more complicated we can refer you to our specialist hospital, Pride Veterinary Centre in Derby. Here they have specialists in a wide range of surgical and medical fields whose opinion can be sort at any point. This option is always available to our clients, at any stage if they wish. We feel this gives the best of both worlds – excellent general practice care with the backup of state of the art referral facilities should they be required.
